The Department of Defense's Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is rolling out through every new DoD contract, and it flows down from prime contractors to the small businesses that supply them. Beginning November 10, 2026, outside assessments become a standard condition of award for contracts involving controlled information, and primes are already choosing suppliers based on readiness.
